For professionals who want structured preparation before they are examined. The same certification process with the INBGC curriculum added, covering every Board Examination topic area, followed by the same examination every other candidate sits.
What your fee covers
- The complete INBGC curriculum, covering every Board Examination topic area
- Application and eligibility review
- One practice exam attempt
- The proctored Board Examination, passed at 80 percent or above
- Verified practice hours submission review
- Your first year of credentialing, including your credential number, verification page, badge, and printed certificate
- The Practice Building Curriculum, released once your designation is awarded
Completing the curriculum confers no advantage on the Board Examination. It is preparation, not the credential, and it is not required. You may complete grief-specific education through any qualified provider instead. INBGC maintains no list of approved programs and endorses no provider.
Already completed grief coaching training elsewhere? The Equivalency Path recognizes it and costs $1,250 less. Prefer to spread the cost? See the payment plan for this path. Annual renewal is $495, beginning more than twelve months after you are certified. Cost a barrier? The INBGC Access Award reduces the certification fee for coaches serving communities with limited access to grief support.
