You are one step away from earning the Board Certified Grief Coach (BCGC) designation. Review the eligibility requirements below, select your pathway, and complete your application.
Before You Apply
Make sure you meet the eligibility requirements before submitting your application and certification fee.
Have completed a grief coaching training program from a recognized program or institution
Have completed a minimum of 25 supervised practice hours with clients
Have documentation of your training and practice hours available to submit
Agree to abide by the INBGC Code of Ethics and scope of practice guidelines
Be prepared to sit a remotely proctored certification exam

Both pathways lead to the same exam, the same credential, and the same professional standing. The only difference is whether you bring your own training or complete the INBGC curriculum first.
Equivalency Path
For coaches who have already completed grief coaching training elsewhere.
Your certification fee covers:
- Application and eligibility review
- One practice exam attempt
- Proctored certification exam
- Supervised practice submission review
- First year of credentialing and registry listing
INBGC Curriculum Path
For coaches who want structured, exam-aligned preparation before testing.
Your total investment covers:
- The complete INBGC grief coaching curriculum ($1,250)
- Application and eligibility review
- One practice exam attempt
- Proctored certification exam
- Supervised practice submission review
- First year of credentialing and registry listing
